Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the SIPLIVE platform and services (the "Service") provided by SipLive LLC ("SIPLIVE," "we," "us"). It is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms & Conditions. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. Violation of this AUP may result in suspension or termination of the Service and may make you liable for resulting charges and damages.
Current service model: SIPLIVE provides hosted PBX software and infrastructure only. You must supply your own SIP trunking / carrier and are responsible for all charges billed by that carrier. Sections marked "SIPLIVE-Provided Carrier Services" below apply only if and when SIPLIVE begins offering carrier/trunking services to you.
1. Prohibited Uses
You may not use, or permit any user or third party to use, the Service to:
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation, including telecommunications, anti-fraud, export, and data-protection laws;
- Send unsolicited communications (spam) or violate anti-spam / anti-robocall laws, including CAN-SPAM, the TCPA, and carrier A2P 10DLC requirements;
- Engage in, facilitate, or benefit from telecommunications fraud, including toll fraud, traffic pumping, access stimulation, International Revenue Share Fraud (IRSF), Wangiri (one-ring) fraud, caller-ID spoofing for unlawful purposes, or PBX/SIP compromise;
- Originate unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, deceptive, or fraudulent communications or content;
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsify caller identification, headers, or routing information except as expressly permitted by law;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other tenants, accounts, systems, networks, or data;
- Interfere with, degrade, or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or of any other user;
- Conduct autodialing, predictive dialing, or mass communications without all consents and registrations required by law;
- Resell or provide the Service to third parties except under an authorized reseller/MSP agreement.
2. Security Responsibilities
You are responsible for securing your account, tenant, and endpoints. You agree to:
- Keep login credentials, API keys, SIP/extension passwords, and device credentials confidential and strong;
- Restrict SIP registration and management access to trusted networks/IP ranges where practical;
- Promptly disable compromised extensions and rotate credentials;
- Notify us without undue delay at abuse@siplive.net upon discovering any unauthorized access, compromise, or suspected fraud;
- Maintain accurate contact information so we can reach you about security and billing events.
3. Trunking and Carrier Services
3.1 Bring Your Own Carrier (current requirement)
- You must contract directly with a licensed carrier or SIP-trunk provider for call origination and termination.
- All call charges, minutes, surcharges, taxes, and regulatory fees are billed by your chosen carrier directly to you and are your sole responsibility.
- SIPLIVE is a PBX management and hosting provider and is not a telecommunications carrier; SIPLIVE does not originate or terminate calls on your behalf under this model.
- Emergency calling (E911/933) availability and accuracy are the responsibility of you and your carrier. You are responsible for registering and validating emergency service addresses.
Applies when SIPLIVE provides carrier services
3.2 SIPLIVE-Provided Carrier Services (future — not active today)
The following terms apply only if and when SIPLIVE elects to provide carrier/trunking services to you, and are shown here for transparency. Until then, Section 3.1 governs.
- Liability for all usage. You are responsible for, and shall pay for, all traffic originating from or terminating to your account or tenant, including calls resulting from unauthorized access, compromise, misconfiguration, or third-party fraud, regardless of fault or negligence by any party other than SIPLIVE's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
- Restricted destinations. International and premium-rate, high-cost, or high-fraud destinations are disabled by default. Enabling them requires your express opt-in, acknowledgment of the associated fraud risk and liability, and may require an increased deposit.
- Prepayment, deposits, and spending caps. Carrier services may be offered on a prepaid or deposit basis. SIPLIVE may set per-account credit limits and spending/velocity caps and may suspend service upon reaching them.
- Suspension on suspicion. SIPLIVE may suspend, throttle, or restrict traffic without prior notice when it suspects fraud, abuse, or abnormal usage patterns, and is not liable for any resulting interruption.
- Monitoring is best-effort. Any fraud monitoring, alerting, or spending controls are provided as a courtesy on an "as is" basis, do not guarantee detection or prevention, and do not shift liability to SIPLIVE.
- Indemnification for fraud. You will indemnify and hold SIPLIVE harmless for all charges and losses arising from traffic on your account, including fraudulent or unauthorized usage, and including amounts SIPLIVE must pay to its upstream carriers.
- Know Your Customer. Provisioning of carrier services may require identity verification and is subject to approval.
4. Toll Fraud and Unauthorized Usage
Telecommunications fraud is a significant risk. Regardless of the service model, you are responsible for all activity and traffic under your account or tenant, including activity resulting from a compromise you did not authorize. You acknowledge that a compromised PBX can generate substantial charges in a short period, and you agree that maintaining the security controls in Section 2 is your responsibility. Where you use your own carrier, such charges are billed by and owed to that carrier.
5. Monitoring and Enforcement
SIPLIVE may, but is not obligated to, monitor use of the Service to protect the platform and its users. We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, block traffic, or restrict features as needed. We may suspend or limit your account without prior notice where we reasonably believe there is fraud, a security compromise, a threat to the platform, or a violation of this AUP. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you promptly thereafter.
6. Suspension and Termination
Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of the Service, in addition to any other remedies available under the Terms or applicable law. You remain responsible for all charges incurred through your account up to the effective time of suspension or termination.
7. Reporting Abuse
To report suspected abuse, fraud, or a security issue involving the Service, contact abuse@siplive.net.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
